On September 27, 2026, a user said NinjaTechAI had shown him long-running enterprise agents running on company-controlled machines. He claimed big companies were lining up before the product's release. He also argued that locally run open-source models were attracting enterprise customers who value consistency over the most capable models.

Walden@walden_yanOne of the cofounders here Clearly we made some mistake here and I’ve asked the team to debug how this happened. The quarterly payment did get approved and I’ll see why that got lost. I also personally oversee our work in making Devin price-performant. We believe it’s a key differentiator when we can orchestrate multiple underlying closed and open models. So it’s very concerning to hear you experience Hermes to be 4x cheaper. While that’s not what we hear from other customers or our own testing, I can believe we messed something up in this case. So thanks for flagging to us. If I could make one ask, could you spend some time with our eng team to show your new setup? If we’re making cost inefficient decisions we want to know and fix that12d
Robert Scoble@ScobleizerBeing in the AI business is brutal when your customers figure out there are cheaper ways to do it. @NinjaTechAI showed me last week exactly this. Long-running agents in enterprise: all running on machines under control of the company. “On prem” everyone calls it. “Take no dependencies,” the rallying cry says. Ninja announces within days but already has big companies lining up and it hasn’t even released. Word of mouth spreads fast because CTOs have their jobs on the line if they don’t pick the right architecture/vendors/technology. Running local open source models is attracting customers in enterprise. Turns out enterprise usually doesn’t need the best of the best models either. Enterprises need consistency more than ultimate intelligence. There are a lot more Ian’s out there. So big shifts still ahead as the world’s business learns to use AI to make bottom lines better. Right now many are dumping cash into tokens and not getting enough ROI out of the spend. I hear this from many.12d
