AI targeting system allegedly recommended Minab school using stale data

A post citing Bloomberg says U.S. personnel used Palantir’s Maven system, with Anthropic’s Claude embedded, before approving the target. It alleges 156 people died, including at least 123 children.

TLDR

A September 23 post citing Bloomberg alleges that Palantir’s Maven Smart System recommended an elementary school in Minab, Iran, as a target using seven-year-old imagery and an outdated label identifying the site as an Islamic Revolutionary Guard facility. It says humans approved the target before two Tomahawk missiles struck on February 28, killing 156 people, including at least 123 children.

The post says some staff assumed Maven would flag stale intelligence. It also says Palantir told Bloomberg that the government is responsible for the underlying data. The author argues that accelerated targeting and misplaced human trust—not AI acting independently—were central to the failure.

A September 24 quote-post disputes the two-strike account, alleging three strikes rather than two.

Kathleen Tyson@Kathleen_Tyson_Palantir and Anthropic targeted Minab school, aided by Pentagon stale data and Hegseth psychopathy stripping target review staff. And it was a triple tap, not a double tap. Children killed on first strike. Parents killed by second strike getting surviving children. Rescue workers killed by third strike rushing in after second strike. Unforgivable.16d
