Hartej@hartejsengh40% of Instinct users give an AI agent access to a credit card within three weeks Once a user connects even one piece of sensitive information, retention reportedly jumps to roughly 80% (SignalCast) That might be one of the most important consumer AI metrics I have seen Instinct is no longer just answering questions It can book flights, order groceries, cancel subscriptions, make reservations, pay for things and even call businesses on your behalf It launched invite only in August and just raised $1B at a $10B valuation while approaching $1B of annualized transaction volume (TechCrunch) The remarkable part is how they are thinking about trust Noah Shinn says every piece of outside content Instinct consumes passes through separate security systems designed to intercept malicious instructions And every action the agent wants to take can be monitored by another system outside the agent itself that can pause or block execution (PodScripts) This separation feels fundamental You cannot ask the same intelligence that has been potentially manipulated to also decide whether it has been manipulated But I think there is another layer still missing I would not give my personal AI agent my primary credit card I would give it its own wallet A dedicated debit or virtual card with €1,000 sitting inside it €200 maximum per transaction Merchant category restrictions Disposable card numbers Automatic replenishment Instant revocation And anything above a predetermined threshold comes back to me for approval Essentially least privilege for money The same architecture cybersecurity has spent decades developing for computers will probably become the architecture we use for autonomous agents Give the agent enormous capability Give it extremely limited authority As agents become capable of spending money autonomously, the winning financial product might not be another credit card It might be the bank account built specifically for AI11d
