Dan Shipper Assesses Hugging Face Attack

Dan Shipper posted that the Hugging Face attack deserves serious attention yet is not an early sign of machine takeover. He stated that similar issues will appear mostly solved within six months if proper precautions are taken, though those steps will not occur without deliberate effort by skilled people. Nicholas Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic, retweeted the thread. The posts frame the incident as a tractable security matter rather than an existential AI risk.
