TLDR

Sriram Krishnan posted about AI agent UX problems, including local filesystem access and whether agents can run from a phone or require a synced Mac mini. Elon Musk quoted the post and stated that Grok Bot runs on its own computer in the cloud 24/7, so device status does not matter. A minority of replies raised security concerns about granting cloud agents access to corporate environments.

Sriram Krishnan@sriramkone real issue I have with various agents now is "where is this code going to run" - does it need access to my local filesystem - can I fire it off from my phone and if so does it run on the cloud or needs my Mac mini fired up / synced? The current UX metaphors around this seem to need work.39d
Elon Musk@elonmuskGrok @Bot runs on its own computer in the cloud 24/7, so it doesn’t matter if you turn off your laptop39d
elvis@omarsar0this is something that requires some form of memory system/rules. this is how i've solved this problem. my agents/bots can easily figure out from the rules/memory where to run a specific type of task given the environment/tools/context options. not perfect but works to some extent39d
