TypeSafe AI has launched Jev, a model the company is pitching for software automation, and announced a Series A involving a16z. An a16z partner also announced the firm’s investment, describing Jev as a system intended to make software smarter and give developers more capable tools.
TypeSafe’s Diogo Almeida said that within the first three weeks, the company had “accidentally” served trillions of tokens per day and “29.4% of the fortune 500 showed up”. The figures are TypeSafe’s own claims.
Almeida described Jev as AI designed to operate inside software rather than sit beside it as a chatbot. His pitch is that developers can automate repeatable work and trade capability, cost and speed as they build systems.
That focus also shapes TypeSafe’s view of the market. Almeida argued that established software companies could benefit because they already understand the workflows customers want automated. It is a product thesis, not a demonstrated industry outcome, and it keeps TypeSafe’s emphasis on automating software workflows.
