The Odyssey reportedly becomes Universal’s first $1.7 billion film

GlobalBoxOffice reports that Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey became the first Universal film to cross $1.7 billion worldwide on September 18, 2026. It says the film’s $1.1 billion overseas total is also a studio first. Separately, an Oscar prediction post calls The Odyssey a frontrunner but argues that its strength is still being underestimated, especially in Best Picture.
