Netflix has announced an untitled limited “Bridgerton” series about Lady Violet’s early life and her romance with Viscount Edmund Bridgerton. The pair are the parents of the eight siblings at the center of the flagship show.
Shonda Rhimes and Nicholas Nardini will write, serve as showrunners and executive produce the series. “Bridgerton” director Tom Verica and longtime Shondaland producer Betsy Beers are also executive producers.
The project follows “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” which Rhimes created. Netflix says “Bridgerton” Season 5 is in production and Season 6 was greenlit in May 2025.
