The Pokémon Company is packaging Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and its Mega Dimension expansion together on one physical game card. The first-party announcement sets the bundle’s release for Oct. 29, 2026.
That distinction matters for buyers who want a physical copy of the expanded game. Mega Dimension is included on the card rather than supplied as a separate purchase, and the package contains the same game content players would get by buying the Switch 2 Edition and DLC individually. People who already own the Switch 2 Edition do not need the bundle to access the expansion; Pokémon says they can buy Mega Dimension separately.
The expansion still follows the main story
The all-in-one package does not change Mega Dimension’s progression requirement. Players must complete the main story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A before they can begin the DLC’s story.
The Switch 2 Edition game card can also run on the original Nintendo Switch. On that hardware, however, it behaves like the standard Switch software and does not include features or content that rely on the Switch 2’s specifications. Buyers planning to move the card between systems should not expect the older console to reproduce the Switch 2 version’s enhancements.
A bonus with a few conditions
Each bundle comes with a serial code for 100 Ultra Balls. The code can be redeemed once and has no stated expiration date, although Pokémon notes that an eventual end to network service could make redemption unavailable.
Claiming the items requires an internet connection and a user profile linked to a Nintendo Account. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Players also need to reach the Mystery Gift feature, which Pokémon estimates takes about one hour of play.
The code cannot be reused in another save file after redemption. Pokémon also says it will give advance notice if network services are scheduled to end.
