US Physical Game Sales Hit Record July Low Amid Digital Shift Debate
Posts react to an IGN report on record-low July physical game sales in the US.
TLDR
An IGN report cited across X shows U.S. physical video game sales fell to an all-time low of $85 million in July. Users debate the cause, with some blaming Sony's digital-only push and others claiming physical buyers failed to purchase new copies in sufficient numbers. Collectors voice concerns that the shift prioritizes casual buyers and risks bricking consoles if stores close. One reply urges focusing on digital ownership rights instead of reviving physical media.
