Four astronauts aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft returned to Earth on Thursday, landing in the Pacific Ocean off Los Angeles at 8:34 a.m. PDT after nearly eight months aboard the International Space Station, NASA reported.

Featured Source

The returning crew included NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev.

A 237-day stay in orbit

Crew-12 spent 237 days at the space station and completed four spacewalks. The mission was the first spaceflight for Hathaway and Adenot and the second for Fedyaev.

Meir’s return brought her career total to 440 days in space, which NASA said places her among the agency’s top 10 astronauts for cumulative time in orbit.

Recovery in the Pacific

After splashdown, teams in two fast boats moved in to secure the capsule. NASA said the main recovery ship would then hoist Dragon onto its deck with the astronauts inside before the crew exited the spacecraft.
