Google tests ‘Call for Me’ to let Gemini handle business calls on Pixel 11

TechCrunch reports that Call for Me lets users ask Gemini to call businesses from their own phone number. Google says it can introduce itself, navigate automated menus, wait on hold and handle requests such as checking stock, making reservations or moving appointments. Users get a live transcript and can take over at any point. The initial experiment is limited to U.S. Pixel 11 owners with a paid Gemini subscription and the Phone by Google beta. CNET says the feature is designed not to make payments or share credit card numbers, so users may need to take over to provide sensitive details.
