XiaomiTime reports that Xiaomi has dropped the 18 Pro Max from its India plans after development of the phone's India-specific HyperOS build stopped in May. The account now expects only the Xiaomi 18 Pro to reach the country, while describing a November 2026 global launch for the Pro series. Xiaomi has not announced the Indian lineup, price or release date, and earlier leaks offered conflicting regional plans, so the claimed cancellation remains unconfirmed.

Xiaomi has reportedly abandoned plans to sell the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in India, leaving the 18 Pro as the only model from the flagship series expected in that market. The claim comes from XiaomiTime, not from Xiaomi itself.

Featured Source

XiaomiTime says its conclusion is based on the phone's India-specific HyperOS development history. According to the account, the last known India build for the 18 Pro Max was OS4.0.260513.1.XEOINXM.PRE, dated May 13, and no later India build has appeared. The account says development for the 18 Pro is still active.

A leak, not a launch announcement

That evidence can indicate a change in regional plans, but it does not amount to an official cancellation. Xiaomi has not confirmed which Xiaomi 18 models India will receive, when they will launch or how they will be priced. Earlier reports based on HyperOS code pointed to different combinations of standard, Pro and Pro Max models, underscoring how fluid prelaunch firmware clues can be.

XiaomiTime expects the broader Pro series to launch globally in November 2026. It also attributes a 7,000mAh battery and a Leica-branded triple-camera system to the 18 Pro, but final India specifications remain unannounced.
