Apple is putting longtime insider Steve Smith in charge of mergers and acquisitions, while Adrian Perica will focus entirely on the company's services leadership team, according to an internal memo reviewed by Reuters.

Perica moves fully into services

Perica has spent more than 17 years in Apple's M&A and corporate-development operation. In 2023, he also took oversight of iCloud, Fitness+ and News, among other businesses, the memo said.

Now, his attention will move fully to services. Cue wrote that Apple has "big plans for services" and that he was pleased to get more of Perica's time.

Another management shift under Ternus

The changes are among the latest management moves under CEO John Ternus. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who first reported the reshuffle, described it as Apple's latest management shake-up.

Apple did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.
