Constance Wu, Henry Golding and Ronny Chieng will star, while Michelle Yeoh will recur, Deadline reported. All four actors are reprising their roles from the film.

Variety reported that Lim will serve as showrunner and executive produce alongside Chu. Lim described it as an eight-episode sequel rather than a single movie.
