The outlet’s translated verdicts describe a challenging action game built around exploration, weapon and Arcana switching, and whip-assisted movement. Reviewers highlighted the boss battles, responsive controls, detailed Paris and Castlevania environments, music, and adjustable assist options. They also noted that some whip movement may feel sluggish. One reviewer compared the action and visuals to recent Western indie films rather than traditional Castlevania and said the distinction may come down to personal taste.

Konami partnered with Dead Cells studio Evil Empire on the project. Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches for Nintendo Switch on October 15, 2026.
